Welcome to Outer-Core, a great space based MMPRPG.
You start with one Base in a random astro, click on the Empire link to see it and to build structures.
You also get a Colony Ship, to be used to create another base in any empty astro. You can visit the Maps to pick a Planet, Moon or Asteroid.
You also get 1 Corvette to protect your Colony Ship, and 1 Scout for you scan the regions to find your desired astros.
You can move your fleet through Fleets page, you will find your Starter Kit fleet there.
We recommend that you pick a moon, with good metal, fertility and solar. You will understand why with time and practice. Check under Help - Terrains tab to know all about the astros.
After you colonize your bases, build a few Metal Refineries, to improve your construction capacity. Build a Research Lab so you can start researching, and build some levels of Shipyards to produce your ships.
Take advantage of the first week double economy income to new accounts! Boost your bases economies higher as you can
Have fun, and contact us if you have any question or suggestion.

Ok, I have a base. Now what?
Click on the Empire link, you will see your new base. Click on the Construction ( 0 ) link.
It will take you to the Construction page for the selected base. There you can build all kinds of avaiable structures like Solar plants, Gas plants, Metal Refineries, Shipyards, etc. Check Help page on Structures for more details.
First, you want to increase your base construction and production capacity, to achieve that build a few Metal Refineries, it will reduce the time to build all the other structures. Check the help page what you need to unlock Robotic Factories, it is highlighted in red, also check Nanobots Factories and Automated Factories. All those structures improve your base production and construction capacities.
To be able to research, build Research Labs, each one will give the base more research points.
All structures need power, area and population. To give more of those you will need the power structures, habitat zone and multilevel plataforms, etc.
You will need defense as well. Click on the Defense tab next to the Structures tab. Only defenses will prevent your base from getting occupied. But a base without fleet can be pillaged (the base economy pillage). To pillage the base owner economy, the aggressor need to occupy the base.
Build shipyards so you can build ships. Level 1 allows you to build Fighters. Check the Techologies and Ships under Help page to see what techs are required to build each ship, for example Fighters require Laser level 1 and Armour level 1.
Barracks are the first base defense.
They have 2 functions: to protect the base against any attack, and to produce Marines.
Each Barracks level will also give 10% more Marine production (build faster).
Some defense structures have the ability to fire on OR at any ship within the base System.
The defenses that allow these ranged attacks are: Laser, Missile, Pulse and and Drones.
So you probably want to have some of those in each base. Each attack on a nearby astro costs credits.
Deflection Shields add shielding to all ground batteries, from Barracks to Disruptors. Planetary Shields or Starbase Shields will add shielding to all on orbit ships (owner only).
Base your defenses on the Base Economy. Low economy doesn't need big guns.
Unshielded base defenses (barracks to pulse batteries) will help any of your alliance member in orbit, so is is recommended that you build a few laser and missile batteries to both allow you to fire on any ship within the system and to help protect your mates.
Command Centers add extra 5% per level to all ships armour and power in orbit, to yours and your allies.
Also to the speed universes Command Centers, the 5% boost includes all base defenses.
Ground Defenses
If your base has Deflection Shields, they will add shielding to all ground-battery defenses (from barracks to disruptors)
The math behind it is:
total of shields divided by total of area
shields = deflection shielding * 5
area = sum of all battery levels * 5
limited to a maximum increase of 3 shielding per battery.
For a simple example, if a base has 1 barracks, 1 laser battery, 2 ion battery and 1 deflection shields, then:
(1+1+2)*5=20 area
1 deflection=20 shielding (add 5% to each shielding tech level you have)
so each ground defense would get 1 extra shielding.
Base Owner Orbiting Ships
To the orbiting ships the bonus is similar, divide the total number of units you have by the p.shields or s.shields
1000 ft
1 level of p.shields
24*5 / 1000 = 0.12
if you have shielding tech 20, it would give double that shielding to your fighters.
Shielded units will have their shielding increased.
You can increase your bases economy by building the following structures:
Also those structures will give you more economy:
The most impressive structure to economy is the Spaceports. It gives only 1 economy to level 1, but each next level will increase to match its level, like 2 to level 2, 3 to level 3, etc.
So Spaceports level 5 will give you 1+2+3+4+5=15 econ.
Free accounts spaceports are limited to the amount of Bases, Premium accounts aren't, but the increasing economy it gives stop at the number of bases, so if you have 7 bases and each base have Spaceports level 10, after level 7, all the other levels will give just 7, not 8, 9 and 10. Upon you build your 8th base, all bases will get 8 to each next level above 8.
Remember to proper defend your base based on its total economy, as bigger economy will give bigger pillage to the enemy. O-P-Rings are a must if you have economy 100 or higher. Also add some small and middle power batteries plus Deflection Shields, so all batteries will have shielding making your base less profitable.
You can link labs from bases that has research lab level 18 or higher, to a base that has research lab level 20
You need the Subspace Communications technology to achieve that
By linking the labs, your research output at the main lab will sum with all linked ones
Commanders reduce the tech prices by 1% per level
The commanders from each linked lab counts, with this math rule:
sum(linked labs cmdrs.)^0.8 + main lab research cmdr. + research minister
example:
6 linked bases with cmdr. level 5, main base with lvl 10 and minister level 5
sum(30)^0.8 = 15 + 10 + 5 = 30% discount to all techs
There is a cap limit of 80% to avoid free techs
You can build fleets by producing ships at your bases shipyards, or by splinting a existing fleet
There is no limit to how many fleets you can have, but you are limited to how many astros you can have fleets over.
The limit is your number of bases * 2 + number of occupied bases + computer tech level
You can move your ships with extra speed by selecting a available space gate or gateship
You can use other alliances space gates if they set it to public, but it might cost a percentage of your fleet size
If you add a cloak ship, each cloak will affected the detectable size by -5%, limited to -25%
holo ship does the opposite, +5% up to +25%
To move a fleet, you have 2 choices
* The first option is available to Premium account only.
To move part of a fleet, you need to split it.
First you click on your desired fleet that have the ships you want to move.
On the fleet page, you will notice several tabs, click on Split.
You need to type the new fleet name, as by splitting you will divide your fleet in two.
Type the numbers next to each ship type you want, if you have 100 corvettes and want to move 10, inform the number.
The block on the right side will calculate how much marine and hangar space you will have on your new fleet, so you can split with those types to send it to where you want.
Are you done? Click the button
The game have cloaking tech, which allow you to build Cloak Ship, Holo Ship and Cloak Generator
The 2 ships works reducing or increasing its fleet size to the other players scanners, at 5% per ship, 50% maximum.
So if you have a fleet size 10,000 and 1 cloak ship, it will appear as 9,500, causing the enemies scanners to detect it later than it should at normal size (9500 seconds befor landing, not 10k)
And if you wish to scare them with a fleet size 7.5m, instead the real size 5m, add 5 Holo Ships
The Cloak Generator is a defense structure for your bases, it works similar to the Cloak Ship, by reducing its detection. The scanners will only list your base at their screens if their Stellar Cartography Tech is at least equal level of your Cloaking Tech.
At a Fleet Overview page, there is a combobox with all your fleets
When you click it, it will open the list with the following colors:
fleet on route
moved under 10 minutes ago
moved under 1 hour ago
moved under 1 day ago
moved under 1 week ago
the list is ordered by on route, user order, fleet name
Under Maps menu - Scanners submenu link, you can see a range of options of scanners.
There are 2 types of scanners:
The Passive Scanners are related to your Stellar Cartography tech, level 1 thru 5 increase your detection power to your Fleets system that has a Scout ship; and Deep Space Probe ships can see its whole region.
Stellar Cartography level 1 gets only the bigger astros (planets), and level 5 will get it all; with bases, debris, etc.
From level 6 to 10 its the same as 1 to 5, but now it will extend to the region (apply to DSP only).
First you build several ships, such as Corvettes, Destroyers, Frigates
Fill them with Fighters or Bombers and Marines
Move your fleet to an astro where other player have ships and/or a base
Upon landing, access your Fleet overview page and hit Attack tab
You can select which ships to attack and how many
click the button to finish the attack, and look into the Battle Report the results, also it would be a good idea to have recyclers in your fleet to grab the debris
You can use some of your bases defenses to attack any fleet within the base system
the defenses usable are laser, missile, phase and drones
each fire costs credits, need time to reload and time to hit the target based on the distance
fleets over its owner bases cannot be attacked
You will get credits in form of Pillage when you attack and successfully occupy a base
The pillage is formed by 2 calcs, one is based on the Base Owner Credits:
if the owner is [iCore] (the game bot)
(base-total-economy * time * 50) ^ 0.925
if the owner is a player:
(base-total-econ / owner-econ * owner-credits * time)
time = hours since last pillage /100, cap 100
so if it was pillaged over 100 hours, or never, time is 1. If it was pillaged 24 hours ago, time is 0.76
The other pillage is based on the base economy:
5 * (base-econ - (base-total-econ * 0.7)^2
divided by 2 if in a speed universe
if the base is from [iCore], there is a Bonus over the previous calc since it was hit the last time or the base age, 0.1% per hour - double it to speed universes. 1440 hours cap.
If you want to join an existing alliance, we recommend you visit the "ranks" page first.
Check out the different alliances.
Read their public page and decide if you want to fight alongside with them / want to be protected by them
When you have decided if you want to (1.) Join an alliance OR are able to (2.) make your own BETTER alliance
(1.)Click the alliance page -> choose join one- and select the desired alliance and join it (Wait for the
alliance master(GM) to accept you)
(2.)If you feel like an Alliance Master and want to create your own - click the "alliance" page and select create one.
You can create your own alliance and invite your friends to join it!
Be the strongest alliance and rule the galaxies
Creating an alliance:
If you want to make the best alliance out there...
Get at least 2 econ, select alliance in the top pane and click "Create Alliance"
Joining an alliance:
you can join one of the existing alliances...
Go to the top pane, choose ranks -> alliances, select your favorite alliance and choose join alliance.
If you know someone that already play; click the players name, select the players alliance, and choose to join it
Teletransport Pod is a technology that you can research to enable the Telepod Structure
Premium accounts gives several advantages and increase the fun
There is no limits to the advanced structures, nor to how much bases you can have, you can use the Production Center to build ships in all bases at once
Check all the advantages of Premium Account by clicking on the Premium acct link at the top right of your game universe site
You can get Premium Account by:
- purchasing 1 to 18 months
- with coupons, buy it or get from another player that already have coupons
- by recruiting players
Recruiting also give you extra 5% your own economy every 12 hours, maximum 100%. That only applies while the recruited is a premium account
And recruited players will get a coupon for 2 days when they reach level 10
A player is fully protected over his bases if his level is under 40% of the aggressor level, in an empty astro that protection no longer apply
If you attack a player 40% above your own level, you lost the previous protection for 72 hours
Any bases under 2 days old cannot be hit
If an account go inactive for 7 days, and ain't under vacation mode, anyone can hit his bases
Inactive players will have his bases coords revealed in the Locations tab under his profile page for his alliance leadership after 7 days, his alliance members after 14 days, and to all users after 21 days
30 days inactive and free account turn BORC
The game have an automated allianced called [iCORE]
That alliance have 2 major AI players;
BORG, the highest advanced player, it have a really huge tech, huge fleets and it own a base on each galaxy core, with a public Spacegate level 25 where anyone can use. The usage of that Spacegate have a cost based on your fleet size.
BORC, AI player that inherits the inactive or deleted accounts bases, so it is normal to BORC have hundreds if not thousands of bases. Its tech isn't big, but it is not low and easy to hit
You can attack BORC bases, occupy it and pillage. We encourage you to do it, but be prepared for BORC retaliation. It bites
[iCORE] have an blacklist with players that attacked them, it might be used against you if you do so.
Soon: [iCORE] will have a stronghold! The 10th galaxy (A10, B10, ...) will be a nasty area to land your ships, be prepared for swift interception and battles by BORC and BORG, they will hunt you down until you cry like a baby
